Lovely lovely woolfest

Had a fab time as per usual , meeting lots and lots and lots of you, spending the evenings the company of our woolly friends.

Fantastic new product in the pipeline thanks to Jeni, and no its not a joint product, but could be interesting.

Lots of ideas about our open day, which now looks like it might be a fund raising open day party, too much to tell, will reveal more over the next couple of days...

Woolfest

Off to the Woolfest tomorrow morning, Heidi will be here manning the fort in her normal superstar way, so if you need us don't hesitate to mail her.

Saturday morning eviction

Every saturday morning I am thrown out of my house.
Phil (my dyestudio) like to clean and doesn't want me getting in the way making a mess as he cleans.

So I am sitting listening to the birds, crocheting the Circles Bessie which is nearly finished.
Will post about it when all the circles are joined, maybe in the next hour, maybe tomorrow, maybe monday.

Forgot sale update

Stupid me forgot to say this weeks sale is Alpaca/Silk sock yarn.

My favourite sock yarn in the whole world, well at least it is at the moment. I suspect my new favourite is winging its way to me as I type from Peru.

Tantrum time (again) - Copycats

Recently I have come across several newish dyers who not only dye the same colours as me, but also use the same names and in some cases the same yarn.

It might be coincidence or it might not, I don't know, so can't really judge

But copycats make me furious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hate the fact that people copy what they think is a sucessful product rather than use their own imaginations and come up with new ideas of their own,

I have spent years developing my business, colours, image, product, have put my heart and soul into it, the dyestudio is the whole of my life, not some little hobby I do when I come home from work and the thought that someone might be copying makes me really angry!!!!!!!!!!!

Several years ago I had this problem on ebay, everytime I changed to a new style of photographing my product, it appeared on his/her listings. The colours and yarns were copied, but as there was no way of proving who did what first and who copied I had to bite my tongue.
This is slightly different as people write blogs about what they do and when they do it!

Please don't think I am ranting about my competition, who I have a lot of respect for.
These people are dedicated and work hard at their businesses, and I wish them well.
My closest woolly freind is another indie, I know she has suffered from this problem in the past.

I just want people to think for themselves, rather than steal other peoples ideas.

Am back from my travels - will tell you about it tomorrow, forgot to bring the camera to work, but only took 7 photos so you are not missing much - :-)

I have decided to discontinue several of our yarns so I can concentrate on lace, dk and sock yarns.

All our chunky, aran and mohair loop are reduced to half price, go see, and if you are tempted buiy now as we have sold 3 kilos (30 skeins) in the first hour of them being on-line, they may not be there tomorrow.
